Brand Film
The problem. Hilton opens its first Waldorf Astoria in Indonesia on a peninsula where Aman and Bulgari have already trained the guest's eye — a generic Waldorf launch reads imported and loses to the properties built for this coast.
The idea. Anchor the entire brand system in melasti, the Balinese procession from mountain to sea, so every touchpoint — arrival, corridor, key card, brand film — marks a stage of that descent. Balinese ceremony as operating system, Waldorf as vessel.
The payoff. A launch identity that could not be transplanted to any other Waldorf on earth, on brand for the luxury tier, and defensible against every Bukit neighbor because the design system began with the ritual and worked outward.

Order is what separates a Balinese-informed identity from Balinese-flavored decoration. Melasti gives the system a direction — mountain down to sea — so the palette, the wayfinding, and the ceremony of arrival are all answering the same question rather than borrowing the same motifs.
That descent is the actual creative idea, not a mood board, and every deliverable here exists to prove it holds at both cliff-edge scale and keycard scale.
Does it still feel like this property if you swap the Waldorf name out?
