Coachella 2026

Creative Direction | Motion Design

The problem. Coachella hype piece has to compete with a hundred other festival trailers using the same drone shots and lens flares. Doing it in stop-motion clay is a bet that texture and craft can cut through where polish can't.

The idea. Direction leans into tactile, handmade imperfection — visible fingerprints in the clay, a lo-fi puppet-theater set — then detonates that calm with hard "acid" transitions: chromatic-aberration smears, RGB channel splits, and strobing color bleeds that hit on the beat. Cinematography plays it straight in between hits, holding on warm, single-source key lighting so the chaos of the transitions reads as a jolt rather than a constant.

The payoff. Each glitch burst functions as a scene-change engine, letting the film jump-cut between clay-world intimacy and full sensory overload without ever needing a clean edit. It closes by blowing the frame out entirely into a kaleidoscopic, light-trailed stage reveal, so the motion design itself becomes the "drop" — craft and chaos landing in the same instant, ending is desert goodbye come down.
